How It Works

From a short shop note to a customer who feels looked after.

  1. A job opens. We set up the customer, vessel, and repair job with you — contact details confirmed, communication preferences and consent recorded.
  2. Your technician adds an update. A few words is enough: “Pump expected Thursday. Install date not confirmed.”
  3. We draft the customer message. Facts are pulled out exactly as given. Ambiguity is flagged, never filled in. Expected dates stay “expected” — they never become promises.
  4. Your shop approves what needs approval. Price changes, added work, completion promises, refunds, and safety topics always wait for a person at your shop. Low-risk updates can send automatically only after you approve the templates and rules.
  5. The customer replies in one thread. Replies land on the correct job. Questions are organized for your staff; complaints and technical questions are escalated to your named contact.
  6. Your manager sees what needs attention. Jobs with old updates, estimates waiting for a response, questions waiting for answers, and failed messages — in one daily view.
  7. Completion is yours to call. Only after your staff marks a job ready do we send collection instructions, using your approved balance and wording.

Works with your existing tools

Boat Service Desk is a managed communication layer, not a replacement repair-management system. Depending on what your shop uses, we connect through a tested integration, a simple mobile update form, a controlled CSV import, or an authorized shared inbox. If a connection hasn't been tested with your system, we say so.
